I am going to self study for the AP Human Geography Exam. I bought the Human Geography: Landscapes of Human Activities by Fellmann, Bjelland, and Getis and the Human Geography in action book by Kuby, Harner and Gober. For test prep I bought the Princeton review book, barons flashcards, and crash course book. Will this be enough to prepare for the exam and earn a 5?
That’s more than enough to get a 5. Just remember that 1 book can get you a five and 10 books can get you a 2. It’s all about how you utilize them, analyze them, and study them. I recommend taking notes through out the textbook while simultaneously going through the Barrons flash cards. Then about a month before the exam, start doing PR (make sure to reread any fuzzy areas in the textbook again), read crash course, go over the flash cards, and take practice tests. Good luck!
@cj5555 just wondering why you picked those two text books. I noticed they were on the PA homeschool AP Hum Geo webpage. I am a homeschool parent also working with my son on APHG and thought two text were over kill. Have you looked through both to see if there are major differences?
@LKnomad, I was originally going to take the course with PA homeschool, but my mother didn’t want me to. I looked through both of the books and the difference between the two is that the Human Geography in Action book consist mainly of vocabulary and exercises. It has some information but not as much as the other book. The Human Geography: Landscapes of Human Activities book has a lot of information and almost no questions or exercise.
