Self Studying AP Micro/Macroeconomics?

Next year (Junior year), I want to take an Economics course (AP Micro/Macro).

But this is a problem, because my school doesn't offer any economics classes . So, is there any way that I could teach myself the material for economics and take the exam(s) even though my school doesn't offer the classes? Who would I ask about this? And do you have any suggestions about how to self study for these classes?

Get a AP Economics Prep Book. 5 Steps to a 5 covers Macro and Micro in one text.
Next, you can get a text book that covers basic economics and use your test prep book to figure out which sections of the textbook to read. I don’t have any suggestions for a textbook because I honestly disliked the one our school used.

Barron’s also covers both Macro and Micro in one textbook. It’s divide right in half, so the moderately thin book likes extremely thin once you’ve look through the table of contents. If you want to take both, I’d use any standard AP prep book out there.

Barron is the best but I also like Princeton’s and 5 Steps. I self studies and got a 5 in macro and a 4 in micro (i took them the same day and it really drained me for some reason)

I plan on self studying this year (my junior year) so I will be following this thread.

It looks like 5 steps to a 5 is a great book.

Get barrons; its an excellent book!!! You can also look over sparknotes online and test it. It’s free. You should have no problem independent studying, AP Micro/Macro is a cake. I only studied intensively for like 1-1.5 months and got a 5 on it.

5 Steps to a 5 is brilliant for both courses. I got 5 in both my courses based solely upon this book.
