I am currently enrolled in AP Physics B and I plan on self studying for both AP Physics C exams (I don’t want to take the exams when the course changes…) My school doesn’t offer AP Physics C because we are a new school and no one wanted to take it (there’s only 8 of us in AP Physics B… pretty pathetic).

I have Fundamental of Physics 7th Ed. by Halliday Resnick and Walker and I plan to use this to study for both exams. I also have PR’s AP Physics C review book.

My only question with self studying for the course (and other course for that matter) is knowing what to self study. Do I cover EVERY chapter in the textbook or just certain chapters? How do I know what to study? Also how could I go about practicing for the Labs? I couldn’t find these questions addressed in other threads about self studying AP Physics C so that is why I asked.

Thanks for the help in advance!

P.S. if you guys know any links for the released exams/FRQs for both exams could you tell me? I can’t seem to find the FRQs on college board’s website anymore.

Eight students in AP Physics B is NOT pathetic. Some schools do not offer AP Physics at all. As to what topics to study, this is what you can do. Download the AP Physics course description from the CB website. Pages 13-15 contains the content outline for the B & C exams. Compare the topics with the chapter titles in your book and you’ll see which chapters you’ll need to cover. Also, I’m sure your AP Physics B teacher knows what topics appear on the C exams. Have you asked him/her yet?

I have already taken Calculus at my school, so that is no problem. I just didn’t know where to start with studying, but lovely Mr. Pascal told me :P
