I'm currently a sophomore going on to junior in high school. I was planning on taking the class for ap world history the past year but the teacher suddenly decided to stop teaching it the year I moved up to sophomore (sucks, huh). So I was thinking about self-studying for the ap world history exam but decided not to in the end since I didn't have much time to study. At school, I took honors world history online so as a result didn't learn anything at the end. I was wondering if I should self-study in my junior year. The reason I have doubts about this idea is because I'm taking five APs this year (including apush) and there's also SAT's plus subject tests for me. But keep in mind that my goal for this exam is a 3, not a 5. I'm not a history person at all so I'll be satisfied with just getting a passing grade and college credit. Also it'll be useful to study ap world for quiz bowl and maybe history bowl if I end up going to the annual competition. If I should take it, what book do you guys recommend? I currently have Barrons but I heard the 5 steps to a 5 is a good study resource for self-studying.
