I'm currently in AB Calc, and over the summer I got the idea of self-studying for the BC exam to get more college credits. So far, I'm doing fine. I'm sure I'll do fine on the exam itself if I continue, but my problem might occur when I'm in college. If I skip how ever many credits a 5 on the BC will allow me, then I would be placed into a higher math class than if I used a 5 on the AB. Will self-studying the concepts covered in BC allow me to handle the higher level math classes? Or will I really need a teacher who can teach me everything thoroughly to do well in the higher level classes?

Quite honestly, do not self-study BC. Take it at a local community college if you want to. It will turn out better for you in the long run, trust me!

Background: Currently taking Calc III, self-studied for 15 AP Exams and received 80 credits.
