<p>Hey, I was wondering if I self study Chinese, would ivy league schools be fine with that if i don't take foreign language classes at my high school, I would be using Rosseta Stone and finish all three sets available, would I need to take some type of test or something to prove my understanding of Chinese? ( My school does not offer a Chinese class ) I'm very interested in learning Chinese due to chinas expanding economy.</p>
<p>So basically, will it hurt me if i self study a language and don't take High School foreign language classes?</p>
