Self Studying for AP Calculus BC

Hi, so this year my school doesn’t offer AP Calc BC so I would like to self-study for it. I’m starting junior year, and last year I took AP Calc AB and got a 2 on the AP Exam. It was my first AP class, and I felt like I could have done better if I studied more. I’ve always been strong in Math, throughout my school years, and I plan on starting this year strong.

My main question is if I should self-study for AP Calc AB, or take the BC test this upcoming June. I would appreciate any advice or prior experience that anyone can share. Thanks in advance.

If you take the BC test, there is automatically a subacore for AB as well.

It would probably have been easier to self-study for the BC test while actually taking AB. But I think with a lot of practice and problem solving, sure why not, self study for BC. Chances are you’ll have to take it again in college, but at least you’ll be way familiar with things.
