Self-Studying for AP World History

Hi, everyone. I’m a sophomore in high school, and I’ve just recently started self-studying for the AP World History exam. This will be my very first AP test, not including AP Environmental Science, which I’m also self-studying for. Anyhow, I’m planning on reading through the Princeton Review guide three times in total, as well as the entirety of Barron’s. I’d like to get through Barron’s twice, if possible. Are there any self-studiers out there who have some tips on how to get a 5? Will I need anything else besides the PR and Barron’s books? I’m familiar with the FRQ formats, so I’m not too concerned about those at the moment. If you can offer any suggestions on how to self-study, I’d be grateful! Thanks!

Sorry this is a few days late! I took the test last year, and my advice would be to study and practice writing the essays-especially the DBQs. There are a lot of old essay questions on the AP website, so try writing out a few and bring them to history teacher, if you access to one, for them to grade. Also, be sure to know the material 100%. Most importantly, don’t stress about the test. It’s a little long, but as long as you’re confident, you’ll do great. Good luck!!!

Okay great, thank you so much!! I have added some more FRQ practice sessions to my schedule.
