wut are the tests that i can self study for?

i really don't wanna waste a year in classes that are overkills

wut are the tests that i can self study for?

i really don't wanna waste a year in classes that are overkills

I heard psychology is good for selfstudy especially if you're good at memorizing info

yeah im thinking about doing that

so i don't have to take 7 classes...

what about ap env. sci?

i dunno
but a lot of people also seem to take macro/microeconomics

people say European, psychology, environmental science, human geography, economics.

I think it's what you know you can do.

i self-studied Calc AB, Stat, and Comp Sci AB. I got 5's on all of them. Oh yeah, and I spent no more than about two weeks on any of them. Saved me a year of homework, projects, quizzes, and all the other non-essential elements of learning the subject material.

^ what review books / books did you use for self-studying those? if you don't mind sharing ><

Used our calc textbook (Calculus of a Single Variable; Larson, Edwards, Hostetler) for the calc AB one because I was really time-crunched and just wanted to know exactly what was on the test based on the textbook and my friends' help.

For Stat, all Barrons. One chapter a day, 15 chapters. Done. Oh yeah and a practice multiple choice that my comp sci teacher gave me (he teaches ap stat too).

For Comp Sci, I was in the CS A class but due to scheduling issues at the time, I decided to pursue AB. The same teacher gave me three FRQs and two MCs. i just studied that (Barrons was pretty ridiculous for CS (it has a full appendix dedicated to things that you don't need to know but might want to just for kicks)). I was actually a bit nervous for this one but when I took the actual test, it was easy.

Hope this helps.

^ ohh, nice job! i'm glad you got 5's all round (:

such experiences motivate me to self study. thanks again for the info! ><

Yup, self-studying is really great. You go at your pace (which is usually significantly faster than the class's pace) and you can stop and review the things that you don't get as much as you want. Lol and it's fun to make bets on. I bet one of my teachers (half-jokingly) on the calc exam that I would get a 5, which I did - she ended up buying me and six friends a full lunch at a restaurant (she was our Odyssey of the Mind coach and it was an end-of-year party but the feeling was nice :) ). Of course the coolest part is when you motivate other people by what you do. That's just an awesome feeling.

i took stats in a community college and got an A.

hardest 4 weeks of my life.

so should i still study for stats and try it out

though it might cost me 83 dollars?

^ i think the A compensates for the 5. and if the college credits are able to be counted in the college you apply to, there's no need to take the exam (:

also, rupac, that's just great! im thinking about self studying human geography and environmental science, but i also want to try out comp science. i really appreciate your insight and info as it gives me a background on how self studying works!

thanks!

its only csu/uc transferrable

so i don't know... should i take it?

and should i self-study for ap env sci

or ap music theory?

^ well, if you took the stats exam in may of next year, then you'd have to refresh your understanding of the material. however, assuming that this wouldn't be hard since you took the course and (despite it being difficult), scored an A, i don't think it would be a problem. so i would go for it then!

ap environmental science is generally one of the 'easier' AP's to study, so if you have a time-crunching schedule next year, but would still like to independently study, you can go for APES

however, if AP music theory is more in your interest, and you're willing to dedicate time for it, then i would study that instead

it all depends on convenience, interest, and your ability to grasp the material..but it could also just depend on how interested you are in the subject (:

i see...

so i have 5 ap's next year (Physics B, Calc Bc, Lang, US, and Psychology)

my school won't offer Ap Music theory til my senior year

so i think i should self study for Env. sci or stats?

i think i would stick with stats. your schedule seems pretty vigorous, and stats will require a light review on your end.

in the end, if you do your best, it'll be 5 AP exams you will do well in + stats, which didn't require intense studying

make sure you don't forget your stuff though! i would buy a prep book (barrons seems like the best one according to CC) just to review stuff, but don't go wild with it, because it probably will be unnecessary ;D

thanks for the advice.

and then i'll just take

ap gov, env sci, music theory, art history, and physics c in my senior year?

should i self study econ or take it during winter at a community college?
