I’m currently a junior and I took Calc BC last year (5), and am in multiavariable calculus right now. I am also taking AP Physics 1 (no prior physics experience), how difficult will it be to self study physics C? Without looking into it too much it seems like my calc experience and AP 1 should make it relatively easy, but I’m not sure. Thanks!
Why do you want to do this?
It is much more important to
- Do well in your HS courses
- Participate in extracurriculars
Colleges don’t take into account you are self-studying anything. You might possibly get credit if you do well on the AP test.
Also, you are expected to take the equivalent of Physics C in college. No need to rush. Also you won’t be able to do the labs.
Why not look into Dual Enrollment?
Colleges definitely see your AP scores for admissions, and I’ve read that AP physics 1 and 2 do not give you any college credit because colleges see them as more like honors courses because they do not include the calculus part of it. I already do well in my high school courses and am in a lot of extracurriculars, and I don’t see how studying more physics is going to change that.
