Self studying TEXTBOOKS

Yeah yeah, I know everyone is going to say these are managable by prep book only, but my mom and school won't allow me to take them without aid of a textbook. So any suggestions for textbooks for these subjects?
Psychology
Envi. Science
Human Geo

Thanks!!

Ugh, you’ll just be wasting money though! For psych, at any rate.

l don’t have any suggestions, but you can try google or amazon for suggestions and textbooks used by different classes throughout the US.

We use Rod Plotnik’s Introduction to Psychology textbook in my AP Psych class. I love the book, it’s amazing. Has all the information and it’s actually interesting.

As far as the other subjects go…I’ve only used prep books, so I can’t help you there.

Textbook isn’t needed. And the school can’t prohibit u to take the exam. If ur mom won’t let u, u only have one option…pay or the exams out of ur own pocket. I’m sure u could convince her though that this will be beneficial to ur education.

dude i seriously did the exact same thing with the same exams lol
i didn’t trust the prep book alone (bad idea)

The Cultural Landscape: An Introduction to Human Geography, rubenstein. Pretty interesting, overly in depth
psychology in modules, myers. Interesting, too long/in depth
Environmental Science: Working with the Earth , miller. never even opened it so… :)

TRUST ME you don’t need it. but these are the ones i got… they’re pretty cheap if you get the older edition (like the second newest one)

LOOK AT THE STICKIED FORUM THREADS.

Not to be a ■■■■■, but come ON people, use your eyes before you ask for help on everything.

Human Geography –> “Human Geography: People, Place, and Culture” (9th edition)

Says the man who is advocating that the OP not use a textbook…

prep book wasn’t really helpful to me either, except the ap practice exams.
psychology:
Psychology: AP edition (Hardcover) by by Philip G. Zimbardo (Author), Robert L. Johnson (Author), Ann L. Weber (Author), Craig W. Gruber (Author)

apcentral also provide example textbook list.

Can i also get one for AP cal. AB, gonna self study for that course next year

I don’t think a textbook in Human Geography is even beneficial. Learn the models and terms and you either get it or you don’t. This is why it has the lowest average score of all AP tests.

@ nycdave21 - If you want to know calculus enough on a general level for a 5 on ab :

[Amazon.com: Calculus: Graphical Numerical Algebraic: Finney, Demana, Waits, Kennedy: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Calculus-Graphical-Numerical-Algebraic-Finney/dp/999081855X) [Ap focused]
[Amazon.com: Single Variable Calculus: James Stewart: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Single-Variable-Calculus-James-Stewart/dp/0534355625/ref=pd_sim_b_3) [Common book; I’d recommend it]

Both are fine. If you wish to learn real calculus in depth, Calculus by Micheal Spivak is for you. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you are an amazing math student or have someone to guide you along, because it is a very tough book.
