Self-studying

Did anyone self-study (e.g. read the textbook or books, did exercises) over the summer for a class that they knew would be difficult? How much did it help?

Self-study can’t hurt, especially if you’re reading from the same book you’ll be using. I think this would be especially good for math and sciences; the social sciences might be tougher to study for unless you know what content’ll be covered. Caution though: enjoy your summer! Most people avoid school work during the summer to avoid burnout. That’s just my take though.

I did it with Chemistry/Orgo, but it was a bit overkill.
