self-sturdying ush

what's the best prep book to self study for the us hist exam? (i took the course a yr ago anad it only covers half the materia, but i took a practice exam and seemed to retain a bunch of stuff!)

I hear Barrons is good.

Barrons is good if you want to be scared out of your mind. Don't be surprised if you can't break 700 on their practice tests.

My son used a combination of REA and Sparknotes to self-study for the June exam. No results yet.

Sorry for my silly question: What does REA stand for ? Is this book particularly tailored for those who study AP His or it caters for students of all levels ? (b/c I'm an inter student, and thus don't have a chance to attend AP classes in the US)

It stands for Research & Education Association.

Don't know about the book question.

Ok ! Thanks iljets10 ;)

Can anybody help with my query ? Thanks a bunch ;)

i self studied USH the nite before the exam using the Kaplan US..i got 690..so if you spend at least a week doing that ull be good..to score a 700+..kaplan is amazing even the political cartoons were the same..KAPLAN ALL THE WAY!...

which cartoons are you referring to? I possess the 05/06 edition and there aren't any cartoons whatsoever.

There are cartoons in the 06-07 one.

You should also purchase spark note flash cards, I recently purchased them because I am taking AP U.S. history next year, they are a good way to review and only 9.95 for 600 note cards.

Did anyone try REA + Kaplan only? Did it get you an 800? Thanks.
