Hey everyone. Does anybody know if the admission officer looks at ones semester exam grade? or does he only look at the semester grade? Please tell me! My semester grades are pretty good but my semester exams really suck…

No, unless your semester exams results are on your high school transcript.

confused517, what if the grade was on my report card? Does that mean it will be on the transcript? And by the way, what exactly is a transcript? Is it same as the report card?

A transcript is different from a report card. At most schools only the final grade and the credit hours earned are on the transcript. Also, there will be the designation of whether the course was Honors or AP. Exam grades and semester grades are not included on a transcript.

Thanx for the information. But one more question, :-), how do u calculate the the final grade when the school only gave out semester grades? Let's say I had A for a class in the first semester and a B for the second semester but same class. Does that calculate to a A- or a B+?

there are only semester grades...they dont average the semester grades together

Go to your counseling office and ask them. Especially ask to see a copy of your transcript (official is better, but unofficial works too). That will answer all of your questions.

The way my high school defined the term, an unofficial transcript was any transcript that had been handled by a student. By definition any transcript given out to students by the guidance office was unofficial, but it was identical to the official transcript (sent directly from the guidance office to the college).

usually they give a transcript in a sealed letter and so long as its sealed its official...
