Semester Grade or Quarter Grade?

Hi there CC!

My school has 4 quarters per year, with 2 quarters per semester, and we are given a final grade each semester. So say I have a high B the first quarter, and an A the 2nd quarter, my final grade for that semester will be an A more than likely. So my question is, do colleges see all grades (quarter AND semester grades) or just semester grades?

I ask this because it's almost the end of the semester and math is not my best subject, but I managed to get a high grade the first quarter, but don't have that great of a grade this quarter, but for the semester, I can probably get a B since I had a pretty good grade the first quarter. But I'm worried about this a little, as I don't want it to effect my chances at all.

Bump…anyone?

That’s not exactly the question you need to be asking. Colleges “see” whatever your school sends them. What you need to find out is which grades your high school puts on the transcripts it sends to colleges. Your guidance counselor can tell you that. But we can’t, since school districts and high schools don’t all do the same thing.

OK, I’ll check with my guidance counselor; I didn’t know if colleges request something specific or not.

I think colleges see you semester grade, I think it shows in your transcript when going into college.
