<p>Quick little question. I transferred 25.5 units from my high school to my university. The reason I transferred those units was because I came from a technical high school that had "similar materials". I got C's in those 5 courses, which is a 2.0 in a semester system. And now I transferred those 25.5 units to the university quarter system now, which works off the +/- system. so my question is does the 2.0 gpa in the semester system equal to a 2.0 in the quarter system? Or would the 2.0 equal to a 2.33 which equal a C+ in the quarter system?
Hopefully you understand this question. Im stressing cause the only reason i transferred those courses to the university was because i go to a cal-state which mean courses are offered about once a year (at least for my major) so to advance and stay in a four-year college and not be there for 6+ years i though I'd knock out some of the core classes with transferred units. And now im stressing about raising my GPA for grad school. </p>

<p>No, you’re mixing up grades and units. </p>
<p>A 2.0 equals a 2.0 no matter what the system. Since you’re going from semester to quarter, the new school may give you more units, but they are not going to change the grade of those units.</p>

<p>It doesn’t matter whether the systems have + & - or not.</p>
<p>Since generally 30 semester units equals 45 qt units, the conversion factor is 1.5. so if they give you full credit for 25 semester units, that equates to 25 x 1.5 = 37.5 qt units.</p>
<p>Your gpa for those 25 semester units was 2.0, your gpa for the 37.5 qt units is still 2.0. Think about it, the GRADE doesn’t change, that is, you didn’t do any better in your classes; rather, they just converted your semester units into qt units.</p>
