According to the Coca Cola website, approximately 2200 advance to semi-finalist, and you will only be notified if you have advanced.

Is it an actual letter or an email as well? Is there a list posted online?

The site is again inconsistent on this point. The FAQs say semifinalists are notified via mail, while another page says mail and email. I gather past recipients would know. The semifinalist list will be posted on the website after notifications are sent.

Ah anticipation…

Have a happy thanksgiving everyone! Hopefully there are some letters in the mail for us soon!

ahhh! this is nerve wrecking! I have no clue how they could possibly narrow their applicant pool by so much through a simple online application. but good luck to everybody!

hmm results have been out by this time in previous years. hopefully we find out soon! good luck to everyone :)

after you submitted the initial application, did you guys ever get an email confirming that you submitted? Or was it only “application submitted” on the page? I updated my application alot and submitted it over 5 times but never got an email confirming my submission. What about you guys? Thanks!

I don’t think I got anything after submitting. No confirmation!

no email here either.

“2. Approximately 2,200 applicants will be selected as Semifinalists and notified by mail and email around December 1. Semifinalists must then complete a secondary application, including essays, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Semifinalist applications are due by mid-January. Our Program Review Committee will select 250 Finalists to advance to the final interview phase. Notifications are sent mid-February.”

There is time

^We’re aware of that language on the Coca Cola site, but as I noted in post 10, the site is inconsistent. The FAQs page reads: “Only those students whose applications advance to the Semifinalist round are notified of their selection by mail in mid to late November. Applicants who do not receive written notification by the first week in January can assume their application did not advance…” This language, coupled with getalifemom’s post that her daughter received a letter the Saturday after Thanksgiving last year, leaves the possibility that semifinalists will be notified before the 12/1. As non-semifinalists are not notified, people are understandably checking this thread for information.

Last year notification came on the 24th…so letters should come soon.

It is unfortunate that notifications will be not be in until at least Monday… sigh.

Blaaaaah waiting is just awesome.

I got my letter yesterday!!! I got selected!!
