Senate Page Program: Summer Session question

Hey guys, I have an urgent question:

Websites say the applicant must be 16 years old by the “date of appointment”. You are allowed to apply for the summer session before junior year, so the application would be submitted during sophomore year. I am currently a sophomore who is 15 years old with a birthday in the beginning of June. I am wondering if “date of appointment” is defined as the date that the page session starts, or the day your application is accepted and you are notified. If I apply for the summer session, then it seems I would be not eligible for the program since I would be 15 during the “date of appointment”, but that would depend on what that is defined as. If “date of appointment” is defined as the day the page session starts, and I apply for Summer Session 2, then I would be 16, and therefore eligible. So I guess I’m a bit confused as to what that term means in this context. I hope this is clear what I’m asking. Any help would be appreciated.
