I might be in deep doo doo. Is it true that ACT will only send one set of scores to the college being applied to? My daughter is taking the ACT without writing but has also done well on the ACT with writing last spring. My worry is that she will do better this time but schools will only look at the date she took the test with writing. So essentially, this test would be useless to a school unless they don't require the ACT with writing? I want to send all of my daughter's SAT and ACT scores, but now I don't even know if i can do it!

You can send more than one set of ACT scores to each college. I believe ACT charges more to send 2 scores than 1 score - but it’s not a lot. Some colleges will superscore the ACT -that is - they will take the highest score in each category. Some will only look at the highest composite score. My suggestion to you is to look at each college she is applying to and what they require. If they do not superscore and require the ACT with writing - then the spring test will be the one to send. If they do superscore and she does better on any sections tomorrow - send both. Some colleges require that you send all scores. So - you really have to check each college for their requirements.

Thanks for that. It seems the policies of the SAT are more well known than the ACT, at least by me. I guess I take every opportunity to panic that is available.

You can send whatever you wish to pay for DD took it twice. The composite stayed the same but in each test she had different areas that she had received a perfect score. Her writing went up one point. We were advised from some good people her on CC to send both sets and let the colleges see that she had done well on multiple parts but on different sittings. We found that none of the schools she applied to (tier one privates mostly) superscored. Good luck!
