Hi, my DD is a Junior, and taking the SAT for the first time on March 11. She is planning to take SAT in March, June, possibly August or September if needed.
She did okay on the PSAT but has been studying hard to bring up her Math score (she had 630 Math/710 R/W on PSAT).
She is a A student in AP Calculus and says she made little mistakes on the Math PSAT, no major lack of understanding.
I know Maryland wants to see all scores, so should she use her free scores to send this first test to UM? UM-CP is her top choice at this time.
She’s worried she’ll get a better score later, but if they want to see them all, should we just send them every time?
I would recommend sending them using the free score reports, since sending them can get a bit expensive later (I believe the SAT reports are $12 or something per college?). Here’s an article that has pros and cons of sending SAT score reports if you need some more insight before making the decision! http://blog.prepscholar.com/important-read-this-before-sending-sat-scores-to-colleges
Oh, sorry, I guess the link didn’t work. Check out the article titled “Important: Read This Before You Send SAT Scores to Colleges” on Prepscholar!
@Astro77 - UMDCP requires that all SAT scores be sent. UMD also superscores, so send them free every time, if your D is serious about attending UMD.
