is it better to send all my ap scores or just the ones that I passed?
will bad ap scores affect my chances?

I didn’t send any in. Your AP scores don’t really affect your chances so I wouldn’t send them in unless you get 4s and 5s

So you don’t have to list all the APs that you’ve taken on the common app? Wouldn’t they find out anyway later?

well all my scores are on my transcript anyway… so yeah i think they’ll find out.

i heard that colleges look at it negatively if they see that i took an ap class but didn’t send a score. apparently they’re gonna think that i didnt take the test?

"So you don’t have to list all the APs that you’ve taken on the common app? Wouldn’t they find out anyway later? "

You can “self report” them on the common app but they won’t find out your official scores until you send them in over the summer.

Yes - but if you don’t report an AP test hat you didn’t do well in, would they penalize you?

I may be wrong, but I thought you had to send in every standardized test score you recieved. Including APs. At least I sent them all in.

NYU recommends that you send in all your scores and they’ll only look at the best ones. Does CMU do that too?

“Also, Carnegie Mellon requires that you send us ALL standardized test scores, so youll need to send your SATs along with your ACTs and subject tests.”

This is directly from an email sent by admissions counselor.

Well I didn’t self report my AP Chem grade which i got a 2 in. Didn’t seem to be a problem. They’ll find out later anyway. It’s not like AP grades play a huge role in admissions.

thanks!
oh i just realized we can’t send ap scores…haha
