Send Graded Paper Separately?

I elected to send in a graded paper separately to a college I am applying to. However, I am unsure of the general requirements for this kind of paper. From the website:

"Good news: You don't need to submit a new essay! Instead, please type a personal statement of at least 250 words, or send us a graded paper from a previous course you've taken in high school or college."

Do you think it would be acceptable to send a one-page long essay defending the right to free speech from my Government class? Or do you think it's more acceptable to send in a full-length (6-12 page paper) research paper from an English class? Should the essay have a grade on it or be a clean copy?

Thank you for any and all help!

“send us a graded paper” I think they want to see your essay with a grade to gauge your abilities.

Out of curiosity, what uni is this for?

Valparaiso, in particular. But I’d like to know for future reference if this issue comes up with anything else.

Do you think there is a preference between the one-page Government paper or the full-length English paper?
