Send mediocre and good Subject Test scores?

So I took the SAT II Literature and US History tests during the last May test date and I feel like I bombed Literature and aced US. The schools to which I am applying do not REQUIRE Subject tests but recommend them (they can help you if you do well).

So my question is, what would the effect be on admissions decision if sent in a bad score in Literature (upper 500 to mid 600) and a good US score (700+)? Could it in anyway negatively impact my chances or is it still a net positive?

A mid 600 score is not necessarily a bad score, it depends what colleges you are applying to. However if you are concerned about the lower score, why don’t you just send the US score?

Don’t worry yourself too much. My D’s college required math & one other subject SAT-II’s. She got a 640 in US History & a 590 in Math II and was accepted. I highly doubt that your scores will have any effect on admission.

Your scores definitely have an effect on admission, especially at top schools.

I wouldn’t send SATII that are below 700, as they probably will hurt your application.

The UC’s? Those scores would probably hurt at Berkeley/LA (and maybe SD) but would help at the other campuses.

I had an 800 on math II, a 660 on US History, and a 630 on Lit. I still got into a top UC with my 660 being the second highest.
I’m not sure if you’re talking about UC’s or not, but I don’t think one high score and one mediocre score hurts that much if you’re not going for Ivy’s.
