Send now..or wait?

I just received my ACT scores from the October test date which was my first time taking the test. I want to send my scores as soon as possible... but should I wait until the essay results come in?

(I've already send my SAT scores to colleges but my ACT scores are much better so I'd like to send them as well).

wait for the essay scores, so the essay scores can be sent too

Does anyone know how long it takes for the essay scores to be released?

Are you applying Rolling, Early Action or Early Decision?

If so, I’d send the ACT right now, then again when the Writing Section comes out in two weeks. This is so that in case they review your file starting a week from now, they’ll have the better ACT numbers. It’s not like there is a HOLD on your file waiting for ACT numbers, right? They have no reason to wait, they might review you next week. You don’t want to get WL, Deferred, or Rejected based on the fact that your better ACT Composite score was not in their hands yet. Honestly nobody cares about the bogus Writing section except for placement after admission into the correct level of Freshman English.
