<p>Is anyone going to a send-off party? Where? Report back please.

<p>Not sure, we were wondering about them. My D is afraid it will be a couple of people just standing around feeling forced to have fun??</p>
<p>What date is yours? Ours is 7/21, D wants to check it out. Might be a way to just connect with faces before arriving on campus.</p>
<p>We went to the send-off party a couple of years ago and found it really helpful to meet both Pepperdine staff, returning students, and new freshmen. Some of those contacts turned out to be very helpful at school. Plus, they had a bunch of Pepperdine stuff to give away to the students who answered some Pepperdine trivia questions correctly!</p>
<p>Thanks WAcollegemom, my D is so ready to go to Pepperdine and meeting other students will be great at the send-off.</p>

<p>We went to the send-off party tonight and it was very good. D was able to meet other incoming students and chat with current students and ask questions. They had a little trivia game where they gave away Pepperdine t-shirts, lanyards and license frames. Each student was given a window decal. It was nice to see how natural the kids were with each other. My D pointed out that after dinner when they were standing around chatting, the boys went and got chairs for the girls. It was a very welcoming atmosphere where she felt very comfortable. The parents were able to chat and share ideas about move-in and discuss majors. </p>
<p>Good time was had by all. Definitely recommend it. Now looking forward to NSO.</p>
