besides ap self report on applications, do i need to send in official collegeboard ap score reports?

thanks

i have the same question. it'll cost me another $100 if I have too ;_;

BingCold ... No, you do not need to send in AP exam scores.

At the time you register for your AP exams (next spring), you can opt whether or not you want your scores to be sent to designated schools -- or pay to have them sent later. Depending on the school you ultimately attend, your AP test results will usually be used for college credits and/or placement within a subject area. Keep in mind that some schools will give you credit for a score of "3" on some tests, but more selective schools may require a "4" or "5" in order to be given college course credit.

Since the ap scores that you self report on applications are used to help determine admission, wouldn't you need to send your scores after you are accepted in order to prove what you reported?

You only need to send in a official score report after you decide where you're going, and at that point's, like NorCalDad said, it's used for placement/credit. (The probably check it against your application to make sure you didnt lie)

ahh i see, good to know i won't be spending another 100-200 bucks on official ap score reports. thanks for the posts

this is very good to know, but apparently are some schools an exception?

Interpret this (from loyola marymount)

"Submit official transcripts from the last high
school attended and from each college attended
(including AP results)."

The HS transcripts often list AP scores--you can check with your HS to see if they do or not. To save the students some $$$, the counselor included the AP scores in his rec (if the student wanted it), which supported the self-reported score. Most Us will accept this & you can send the official AP scores in connection with taking more AP exams in the spring or separately after you decide which U you're matriculating at.
