Send Resume?

I applied to Wellesley regular decision. I'm a bit nervous though. When I was filling out the common application online there weren't many spaces for me to fill in my extracurricular activities. I posted my resume on this board a couple of weeks ago and was told by a few of you that my chances for admittance are good. Should I send my resume to Wellesley to give them a better idea of the activities that I've been involved in. The application didn't have spaces for me to describe world travels and some of the things that I participate in. Do you think that they'd mind me sending in a resume? The common application form said to fill out the extracurricular section of the application even if sending in a resume.

Thank you for posting and answering my questions. I'm really happy that there are people who know about Wellesley's admissions process and are willing to answer my questions. Thank you.

i sent a resume. and i got into ED so it couldnt be a bad thing.

Browninc2, the resume may help and I don't think it can hurt...some adcoms don't like them but they just ignore them. The trick with the forms is to pick and choose, highlighting your best. Depth beats breadth and laundry lists without depth don't impress many people.

I think you look reasonably solid with URM status. I'm curious though: for Wellesley, why don't you apply Early Evaluation? You get a Likely/Possible/Unlikely letter way before April 1.

I also found that the Common App. didn't give enough space for extracurricular activities. I sent in a resume I just got in ED, so I think that they can't hurt, but only send one in if you've really focused on a particular subject. I agree with 'TheDad': "Depth beats breadth." I don't think the school will mind seeing your resume, though. Good luck, hope to see you there in the fall!

Another Class of '09er?! Yea!

I sent my application in last month before I really thought about the Early Evaluation option. I don't know if I can change it now. About what time in April do you think that decisions will be mailed? I can't wait to find out whether or not I was accepted.

Regular decisions go out in March. Our daughter's letter was dated around March 14th of 2004 for this the Class of 2008
