Send SAT or ACT scores?

ACT:29(31E, 32M, 31R, 23S)
SAT:2040/2400 and 1320/1600. 680 M, 640 CR, 720 Writing.

29=1280-1310(on the ACT/SAT conversion scale)(my colleges only use 1600 scale), but the first time I did very bad on the SAT(1230, including a 560 on CR, so colleges will see that). Should I send both since they're about the same, and hope colleges like that I got 31-32 on the ACT counterparts of the SAT, or just make them decide which one to prefer?

Do not assume the conversion tables you find on line are accurrate. Those are guides only. Your ACT and SAT are in comparable range and you may consider just sending both because, for admission, colleges rely on the one they believe is higher. Also, there are a small number of colleges that actually consider only the math and English scores of the ACT for admission – two are Georgia Tech and Rose-Hulman (yes, those two engineering schools ignore your science score).
