Send SAT Scores directly? or not?

I took the October SATs and I'm confused as to how to send the score reports to colleges. I've heard that you should send the scores directly to colleges before you actually see them (which would be the 25th). What I don't understand is that you can see your scores before the early deadline so why do they recommend October scores to be sent directly from collegeboard? Would it be late if I wait until I see the scores to send them to colleges? And if so, would that mean that if I send other scores on October 31st or something, they would not arrive on time? Thanks in advance for answering my questions.

“on time” depends upon when they are due. If they are not due until 12/1 or later, then either way is fine (as long as you remember).

The benefit of doing it NOW is that you get 4 FREE score reports for each exam sitting. If you wait to see your scores (decide if you want to send them or not), then you have to pay $11/school.

If you do it now, they will get it by the 25th. If you wait to see your score, then send it, then most likely it will get there after 11/1 (there are a lot of kids requesting scores, and they get backed up).
