Like so many of us, I'm taking the SAT on Sunday, and I'm curious about sending scores to colleges. Included with test registration, we get to send our scores to 4(?) colleges. Am I required pick these on the test date, or can I keep'em for later? (like,... next year later.)

Some college want the college board transcript with your SAT scores on them (I know Princeton does, and probably most other Ivies). So if you send your scores when you take the test, your fine. But if you don't you have to pay collegeboard to send them afterwards. Also If you are going to pay collegeboard to send the afterwards, make sure that you do them early becaue the additional charge to rush them is ridiculous.

If you're going to take the SAT and the ACT, and the schools you're applying to don't require SAT IIs, you might want to hold off on sending SAT I scores. You can just send them the higher of SAT vs ACT. However, if the schools require SAT IIs, they'll see your SAT I scores anyway, so you might as well send them for free. As NoelB said, you have to pay $9 per score report for reports in addition to the the 4 free ones. I don't believe you can save the 4 free ones for later...if you don't sign up for them when you take the test, you lose them.

If I'm taking a subject test out of an honors class and don't really have a good gauge of where I want to apply yet, is it still worth it to send, even if I'm sending semi-blindly?
