Say I send my schools my current scores, and then receive a better one on a second take. Can I send them my (hypothetically) better, new scores in place of my current ones?

No.
You Can't.
Muahaha

If you're afraid your scores will go down a lot and it will look really bad, then it might be worth paying to send them. But either way, most colleges will look at just the highest scores, no matter when you got them, so...this is really just an issue of saving money.

If you haven't sent the scores already and you don't think they'll go drastically down, i would recommend waiting until you take your second test. your score report will include the scores from both administrations of the test. otherwise, assuming you do better, you'll have to pay to send your scores again to all the same schools.
