Send transcript to USC by Dec 1st?

I know this may sound like a stupid question, but the deadline is tomorrow for merit scholarships and I still haven't requested a transcript. I thought you didn't need to send it until AFTER one is admitted. It says right here on the website:

"Once admitted, all students are required to submit an official copy of their high school transcripts in order to verify their graduation dates. Students' transcripts will also be reviewed to ensure that they have maintained a continued level of academic achievement. A serious downturn in a student's senior year could result in the rescinding of an admission offer."

So which is it? Do I need to send a transcript by tomorrow or not? Please help me out.

If the merit scholarship instructions say the transcript is due tomorrow, I would say it is. In general, colleges ask for initial transcripts for the application, a midyear report of grades after the first half of senior year, and the final one is really just to make sure you didn’t fail any courses, have any significant drops, actually graduated, etc…

Where can I find the merit scholarship instructions?

Read this thread from alamemom (it’s from a couple years ago, but the info still applies) ->> http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/819609-2010-applicants-answer-dec-1st-deadline-everything.html

Another post from her on the same thread states:

Hope that helps!

Oh, I thought you said the instructions said it was due tomorrow?

Anyway, it is my understanding that transcripts go out at the same time as the application…so it would be best for you to get a sealed transcript from your school tomorrow before lunch, and then go to the post office right away so they can stamp the date on it and send it out…check when the post office closes (they say it takes time to process, but if you explain your situation to your counselor, he/she should give you one asap…so go in as soon as school starts and ask right away). Even though the college won’t receive it on time, it will be postmarked.

Awwwww! LaChicaBuena looked up my thread - you have no idea how pleased I am  Thanks.
