Do you think that its smart to send your 1st semester grades to college? Esp if the school you want to go to is a reach?
If the college tells you to sent! This only applies to ED and EA
If you are applying to colleges as a senior in high school, you need to check the requirements of each college to which you are applying. A large number of colleges actually require you, after you have applied, to have your high school submit a transcript with first semester grades as part of a mid-year report. However, there are also a large number of colleges that decide admission based only on grades through junior year and tell you not to submit mid-year grades. Thus, whether you should and can submit mid-year grades depends on the college.
Many colleges do require a mid-year report. Check the school’s requirements. If your reach school does not ask for a mid-year report and you have done very well in the first semester you can always ask your guidance counselor to send the first semester grades.
