Sending 2 SIR's to UC's

hey
i don't want to do anything i'll regret......so i was wondering if it's possible to send an SIR to two different UC's....Cal and davis? then i would have more time to think.....

i don't think so..

no. if you do so, you get rescinded from both. that's what i heard.

that's also what i've heard...i think some people said it states this clearly somewhere, but i would check / read all statements to make sure this is accurate. otherwise, i would just wait and send in ONE SIR. you CAN still change your mind after sending one SIR, although you do lose the $100....but then again, you would be wasting $100 anyways if you did send in two SIR's...

lol yeah, don't do anything you'll regret...just send it to berkeley. lol

No it's not okay to send in two SIRs...they have a deadline for a reason. If you didn't like Berkeley so much (from your previous thread) then just go to Davis, geez. Don't go to Berkeley just because of the name and spend the next four years in misery.

If you send 2 SIRs, the next thing I suggest you do is to find a local community college. In other words, you cannot send two SIRs to two UC's let alone two universities in general.

I amend my statement. If a university does allow you to send a SIR to another university, then that's another story.

However, in the context of two UCs, sending two SIRs is a really horrible idea.

I have not heard of such a case, except that one may rescind his SIR upon gaining acceptance to another college after the SIR submission date as a result of an appeal or waitlist.

Beyond ethical reasons....

YES! you can send in 2 SIRS!!! I know because I asked basically EVERYONE this question, and finally contacted pretty much every school and the UC admissions main headquarters. Depending on the school (most UCs other than Riverside) the only thing that will happen is that they'll send you a letter telling you to rescind one of your SIRS.

Definitely call Cal and Davis and double check!!!

There is some statement on the UC website about this and I am too tired and lazy right now to go look it up for you, but before sending in to SIRS, please do yourself a favor and go find the statement AND call both Berk and Davis. Just make sure you know what you are doing!

But, what are you going to accomplish by thinking about this any more? Don't ask for more opinions, just sit somewhere alone and figure it out. More time isn't going to help! Go where you feel good and happy.
Good luck.

It's kind of pathetic coming across several fantastic candidates who were turned down by Berkeley to see someone who is so taking Cal for granted.

tsk tsk.
