Sending a outside recommendation?

<p>If I sent in the required number of recommendations (counselor and 2 teachers) to my selected schools, is it okay to send another recommendation from my work? Will it benefit me in any way or do schools not even take it into consideration?</p>

<p>In Stanford application process, you are able to send in an additional letter of recommendation from someone who isn’t a teacher or counselor, and they do take it into consideration. Not sure what the other schools’ policies are about additional letters.</p>
