Sending ACT instead of sat/subject tests?

I took the SAT and got a 1360/2100. I also took the math ii subject test and got a 730. Then, I took the act and got a 32. 35 eng/34 math/33cr/25 science 11 writing. Most of the schools I'm looking at don't ask for subject tests. The ones that ask for subject tests ask for the sat with 2 subject tests or the act with writing. Im planning on taking the French subject test in October, but haven't prepared, so I may not do well. So is it a disadvantage if I send my sat and act only, even though I didn't do well on the science section? Pears these schools really looking for subject tests?

Sorry I meant “are these schools” not pears

Submit both if you’re on the Common App O.O
If you have to choose for some reason, SAT. ACT scores are abundant, and compared to SAT and SAT II scores, not as representative of your intelligence. My opinion. Your ACT score might be a higher converted SAT, but SAT IIs have to count for something.

Colleges look at the sat and act equally, even if one shows intelligence.I’m saying do colleges think of it as a disadvantage if I do not have 2 subject tests but submit the act with writing instead, esp. with my low science section?

It’s a difficult decision.
I’d send the SAT with the one subject test (yes two maybe recommended, that’s an issue) to all my East Coast schools (College Search on College Board shows which schools these are) and the ACT score to any University/College outside of that area.

That just made my day. Was that auto-correct (read: automatic error generator), sleep-deprivation, or none of the above?

Are you an admissions officer? No. Does your opinion matter from an admissions perspective? No.

You will be fulfilling the standardized testing requirement by sending the ACT. Since you did well on the SAT and the subject test you took, I recommend sending those as additional tests. Since you sent the ACT, you can send the SAT without also sending two subject tests (but should send your 730).

Yup a typo:) thanks for the help!

You obviously did much better so definitely send ACT!! But you should send your subject tests too! They’ll look at your ACT score and subject tests. Colleges dont really care about the science portion of the ACT anyway unless your applying as a science major.

Ok thanks! And would it make a difference if I didnt take the French sub test and only set the sat, act, and math subject test?

Some schools say ACT & 2 subject tests mandatory. But only some, just make sure thats not the case. If it isn’t that doesnt matter. Just send your ACT and SAT so the Math Subject test gets sent.
