Sending ACT score. Serious Concern.

Ok So this is what I have :

ACT ( NO WRITING ) : 34

ACT ( WITH WRITING ) : 33 / 08 essay

Now, what should I be sending to the universities? Both?

Even if I send both, would they see the 34, even though it's without writing?

I am scared that they may not consider my 34. :(

Can somene give me some advice here?

Thanks.

That really depends on the schools you’re applying to. They have different policies. What schools are you looking at?

Brown, Northwestern, Hopkins, Duke, Emory.

How could the policies differ? I know about score choice for SAT.

All those require ACT w/writing. What they don’t say is what happens if you submit one w/writing and another without? For some colleges, even though they require a writing, they will still consider the one without writing as long as you send one with writing; other colleges will ignore any ACT test that has no writing. The ones you mention don’t say what they will do. What is certain is that if you send only the one without writing, you will be rejected because they won’t consider you at all because of your failure to meet the requirement that you submit an ACT w/writing. Thus, your only option is to send both to have any chance of their considering the one w/o writing.

Would it be advisable for me to call them and ask them? Would they be able throw some light on this?

Thank you.

Also, some schools require you to self-report all of your ACT scores. I’m not sure that any of the schools you listed fall into that category though. Your best bet is to contact the admissions offices.

Just send the one WITH WRITING. That one extra point really won’t make a HUGE difference! I don’t think you should send both but maybe it would be a good idea to send both because it would let them know that you’re cable of making basically the same grade twice on the ACT.

Thank you.

I think you should call because not all Universities require the ACT Plus WRITING test.
