sending ACT scores in lieu of SAT2s

hello everyone, i have a quick question. i took the SAT 1 and didn't do too hot on in 1930 in fact but i did do much better on my ACT a 31. i'm thinking of using that score to apply to a few Ivies but problem is that most demand SAT 2 scores also. since they'll see my SAT 1s will that hurt my chances considerably? or will they use my highest score? My SAT 2s aren't bad and i have killer AP scores also. i know that scores aren't the be all and end all but i would like some feedback... thanks a lot!!!

Brown, Penn, and Yale all allow substitution of the ACT score. Do you have your heart set on applying to specific other Ivies?

Schools SAY they look at the highest score vis-a-vis the ACT or SAT. I don't know that, human nature being the way it is, they can completely disregard a score if they have it before them. Imagine two applicants, equal in everything including their high ACT score. One scored better on the SAT. Which applicant is chosen?

You can report AP scores without sending SAT scores; it is a separate score report. Actually, for most college applications, it is my understanding you self-report the AP scores, leaving the official report for the school at which you matriculate.
