Sending ACT Scores To College...

I registered for the Sept ACT (its my first time), so hopefully I will do well. However, I have a few questions...

I saw that you could send the ACT scores to 4 colleges for free (every additional one costs $10). Well, if I don't do that, is it still possible to send those scores in? I was wondering this because I want to see the scores before the colleges do just to make sure I got good scores.

What is the deadline that the scores have to be in to the colleges by?

If you didn't do the 4 free score report option, how long does it take to send the ACT scores to be sent to the colleges (if this is possible)?

If I take the test in October, will I be able to send those scores in before the deadline?

Basically, I am a little confused as to how this process works.

Not for free. The 4 free score reports only apply to scores you will be sending to colleges automatically (meaning colleges will receive your scores before you do). If you waive the 4 score reports, you must pay to send those in later.

By the application date(s).

Depends on their traffic, volume, and the receiving colleges. Usually, if you send your scores before your application date, you will be fine, regardless of whether your scores arrive before the app due date.

Depends on the college deadline. If it’s Nov. 1, probably not, although some schools will take your score into consideration.
