I took the ACT plus Writing in October 2013 and am applying to Yale in the Early Action program. The ACT scores might take as long as 2 months to be released by when the decision for the early action applicants will have been finalised and released. Is there a way to ensure that Yale gets my ACT score on time?

Unless Yale allows test scores after the deadline, it won’t reach in time.

However, it doesn’t take 2 months. It takes more like 15 days for most domestic kids. It usually sends in about 3- 4 days too.

The maximum time it can take is 2 months. And I’m from Pakistan. And Yale says that it accepts the October ACT score. But I’m just asking that will it accept my score if it gets to them on the 26th of December?

If the score does not get there until Dec 26, it will be too late for EA. It needs to get there by end of Nov/ early Dec. Nevertheless, it is highly likely the score will be there in time. That 2 months is not something that is going to happen unless there are problems such as a system failure at ACT or an investigation for wrongdoing holding up the release of your scores. The initial release date for Oct test scores is Nov 12. It usually takes up to no more a week or a little more thereafter for everyone to get their writing scores (some get them when section scores are released and then they are rolled out as they are completed). Sending, particularly if you identified Yale as a college to automatically receive scores in your test registration, will occur promptly thereafter and "sending’’ consists of ACT putting the scores into an on-line account Yale has with ACT, with the result that sending and receipt occur at the same time.

It has to get there by the deadline. I took the Oct test too, and it won’t count for my EA admission. Once you get it though, be sure to send it immediately if you get deferred from EA/ED and want to apply again in regular admissions.
