The title basically says it all. I would like to explain my 2nd semester "independant study" to the Adcoms in more detail than my school schedule does, which basically makes it look like a study hall. I was hoping to just send colleges a note that would explain what it is (myself and a few other kids are self-studying for AP stats during this block.) How should i do this? Is an email okay? I feel like that might not make it into the right hands...

Otherwise, should i mail in a letter? Or would faxing be better?

thanks

Sounds like your self-studying is really “study hall with a purpose”. This really should have been in the “Additional information” section of the application.

Sending the letter via snail mail, email or fax depends on the particular college. Check with them.

well, yeah i guess thats a reasonable extrapolation. we do have a teacher, and had to get the principal, dean of mathematics, and teachers to sign off on it so we could buy books and use a classroom and such.

oh, and yes i realize i should have put this in the additional info section of the commonapp, but we hadn’t gotten all the signatures so we weren’t sure we could do it at that point.

would it be alright to fax them without contacting the admissions office prior? I have access to a fax machine tomorrow, so it would be easy to do it then.
