Sending all SAT Scores requirement

Hi,
I recently reported my SAT Scores to schools and I didn’t send all of my subject test scores because there were irrelevant ones. Let’s say if college required two subject tests I didn’t report the irrelevant test.

There was this warning “This college requires all of your SAT Scores” but I sent them anyway. Will cause a problem about my admission decision because I didn’t send all my scores?

It depends on the school. Some schools require all subject test scores, while others allow score choice for subject tests but not the SAT or ACT. Make sure you read into your school’s policy, as not sending all scores when asked can lead to rejection or rescission.

@isitan Where are you applying?

I sent it to Stanford and UC.

My scores were
ML1 690 December
ML2 700 December
ML2 560 October
Physics 530 October
Physics 580 December

I didn’t send all of them because they required only Physics and any level of Maths test. So I sent my highest two, ML2 December and December Physics. Do you think if that will cause a problem?

If I send all of them will low scores from previous months affect my chances in a bad way or since I raised my scores colleges will see my improvement and it will raise my chances of admission?

You’re fine for Stanford. It says on their website:

Not sure for UC though. Just make sure you send all of your SAT I or ACT scores.

Thank you! I guess I will resend it to UC, good for me that I asked before reporting my scores to every school that I am applying to.

Still wondering if I send every score will low scores from previous months affect my chances in a bad way or since I raised my scores colleges will see my improvement and it will raise my chances of admission?

From the University of CA admissions website:

“In the College Board’s Score Choice module, ensure that all scores are sent to UC. We require all scores and will use the highest scores from a single administration.”

Also:

“SAT Subject Tests aren’t required, but they’re recommended for certain selective majors.”

And finally:

"SAT Subject Tests

While SAT Subject Tests are not required, some campuses recommend that freshman applicants interested in competitive majors take the tests to demonstrate subject proficiency.

Recommendations for fall 2016 applicants

Remember, these are recommendations, not mandates. You will not be penalized for failing to take the SAT Subject Tests. On the other hand, submission of these test scores (just like submission of AP and/or IB scores) may add positively to the review of your application.

As to whether sending all your scores will help or hurt - it depends. Sometimes a college may determine that the student is over-focused on test scores, others may interpret the upward trend as a positive thing. I wouldn’t worry about what they are going to think - I’d just follow the rules (if it were me). Getting a rescind is much worse than getting a rejection.
