Hi guys,

How does sending an update to Stanford work? I am now highly involved with a key leadership role in an activity that wasn't on my application (since it didn't exist then) and wanted to let my colleges know. Do I just write a concise letter and mail it to my colleges? Fax? Email? I would call my colleges to ask but it's a Saturday :/

Thank you!

Stanford doesn’t really want it, especially this late. It could look like too that you are doing this activity now just to add to your application.

Other schools may allow you to submit at this late date. Check CC and ask.

What about updating for making National Merit Finalist?

If they know already that you were SF, than they “assume” you are F as well as statistically speaking most SF become F. Stanford also does not award anything for NMF that I know of.

Updates to Stanford have to be faxed. They won’t accept anything by e-mail, telephone, or paper mail.
