Sending AP reports to college (there is an option on the AP form for this)

Today, to save time, since our school has like 500 people taking AP tests, our school had us bubble our answer forms (like names and stuff and put stickers in).

There was an option on the bottom that said that we could send AP scores to one college.

Is there any advantage if I choose a college BESIDES saving money? For example, if I choose like Caltech and I do well on the tests, and then Caltech receives the scores, will that put me at an advantage when I apply next year?

Thanks

AP scores are self-reported on the Commonapp so there’s no need to have the scores sent prior to application.

^But I was thinking that lets say (im a junior) I get 5 5s on AP tests this year and I send it to a top college…will that look good with the fact that I did well and I sent it to that college to show interest?

Or will they not care, as the thing is only for seniors that want to save money or something.

You ALREADY self-report it on the common app–by integrity. It’s not necessary to confirm your scores by sending it.

Do you know that when you send your AP scores, it goes to the Registrar, not the Admissions Office?

^ what happens if u accidently wrote the wrong score down then?

just curious…

fiona, but im not a senior…im a junior…ive never written any scores on the common app because ive never used one.

If you apply to Caltech, you will have to submit the Commonapp, no?

Don’t send them until your senior year and you know what school you’re going to. You self report the scores and the school takes your word for it. If you “mess up” you just contact them in writing (but you wouldn’t…because you check apps like 50 times over).
