Sending AP scores below 3

Does anyone know if sending AP scores below a 3 is required? Has anyone not sent the scores and not had any problems?

AP scores are self reported on applications. You dont actually SEND colleges the scores until youre trying to get credit for the classes. So, sending scores below a 3 is not required when youre applying.

can’t you cancel those scores? (i may be mistaken, but that’s why my brother seemed to hint at.)

what if I reported it on the application but now decided not to send the score? Would not sending it jeopardize my admission?

You’re never required to send AP score reports.

That’s what everyone says but then on tritonlink it says this:

The following must be received by the deadline:

* Official high school transcripts

 • AP/IB test results (sent directly from testing agency)
 • College transcripts (including Spring 2008 grades)

If you want credit for them you need to submit them. They’re optional tests - your school can’t force you to send the scores.

Hmm thanks for the responses. Hopefully you’re right.

the AP agency , collegeboard will send all AP scores. So that means if you wrote down UCSD on your AP Exam section of “Send Scores To:” this year, it will send all the AP scores it has on your file.

Basically it works the same way at the SATs , all scores are sent.

It won’t affect your admissions in any way if you earn a score of 2 or 1 on an AP test. You just won’t get credit.
