Hmm…I have a question I was wondering if I could run past CC.
So, I noticed that apparently UR is an “alternative” school where students can either send their SAT score, ACT score, subject tests, or 2 or more AP exam scores. I’m not sure how long this has been true, but I found it out from CompassPrep’s “SAT Subject Test Requirements and Recommendations” article.
Coming from someone who views testing as their (comparable) weak point, how would sending 4 AP scores and no SATs/ACTs look? I have a 4.0 UW, 4.56 W, ranked 3/~440 (top 1%), officer of 5 clubs, work, varsity sport, etc. (if you want a fuller view of my profile you can look at some of my past threads, namely the Chance Me Vassar 2021), so I think (not to sound cocky) but in all regards I’m a pretty good candidate.
Anyway: What would look better: Sending my 31 ACT or sending my APUSH 5, AP Calc AB 5, AP Lang 5 and AP Human Geo 5 (they would see that I’ve also taken AP Chem and AP World though…(which I got a 3 and 4 on respectively…would those be worth sending?). It’s all rather confusing. I know a 31 is “fine”, but I feel like in the context of the rest of my app, it brings me down. Would only sending AP scores also put me out of the running for any merit scholarships, or increase my chances? Anyway, I’m planning an ACT retake for the fall where hopefully I get a 33/34, but I just thought I’d run this by and see what people’s thoughts were.
Thank you so much to anyone who decides to leave a comment! It’s greatly appreciated
