Sending AP Scores to Colleges

Hey guys,

Could anyone tell me if I have to send my AP scores to my colleges? I've looked it up on these forums, but the consensus seems to be that I don't until I decide on a college, but my situation is a little different - I go to an IB school and haven't taken AP courses, yet I self-studied 8 AP exams, all with high scores. Is self-reporting on the Common Application enough, or do you think I should send my scores just in case?

Thanks :)

Self-reporting in application is enough for purpose of admission. The colleges do not expect you to incur the cost of sending official AP scores until after you are admitted and want college credit. If you feel you want to do more than list on the app, send a letter to the admissions office of the college with a photo copy of your score reports and ask that the copy be included in your file.

Thank you very much!!!
