Sending AP Scores to Stanford

Here is what Stanford says on their website:
“Students currently enrolled in AP courses are not required to submit AP scores as part of our admission process. AP scores that are reported are acknowledged but rarely play a significant role in the evaluation of an application.” (Source: http://admission.stanford.edu/basics/selection/prepare.html)

I am confused about what I should do. I have taken over 10 AP classes, scoring 4 or 5 on all. I self-reported all of my scores through the Common App, and they will get a transcript showing my grades (all As). I applied early about a month ago. Should I send my an official report of all of my AP scores? I can’t decide from their website if they truly don’t want it, or if it will help. If you think it will help at all, I will do it. I don’t want to hurt my chances.

Also, the deadline is tomorrow. I already submitted my application and all of the required transcripts, reccomendations, etc by Oct 15, but if I were to send it, it would not get to Stanford before the deadline. Does it matter what date I send them, or did it have to have already happened even though it isn’t required?

Any thoughts as to what is best?

AP scores are already not that important in the admissions process. Since you self-reported already, the score report will not be necessary.

Nope. Waste of money. Send the score report only to the college you will be attending. Self reporting the info on the app is perfectly fine.

No one sends the score report and you doing so won’t help you in the slightest. Just relax and take comfort in the fact that you have done all you can do. Now, there’s nothing to do but wait and hope for the best. Good luck!

You don’t send official score reports to admissions. You have the option to self-report, for them. Later, if you want college credit and qualify, you send those to the provost/registrar.
