This may be an obvious question, but are you required to send AP scores to UCLA. I plan on doing a pre-med route so I don't believe AP credit would help me regardless so would sending AP scores be a requirement. My scores for my senior year aren't the best and prefer not to be sent, I've already sent the one from my junior year and before.

Send all your scores to get any units/credits toward your class standing. It doesn’t matter if you received all 1s and a 3. A 1 will show them you didn’t do well on the exam, but it doesn’t matter because I don’t think it will affect your admission, which is what most incoming students fret about. You’ll still get units for the 3. Maybe don’t send them in if none of your scores are above a 2, unless there is a rule that says you must submit all AP scores, which I’m not sure about these days with the changing rules from year to year.

Wouldn’t they just be empty credits for me and a waste of the $15/$25.

I’m getting mixed messages. I also would like to know the answer to this.

They are credits that boost your class standing, which can be used to your advantage during class enrollment in subsequent quarters after freshmen orientation. If you have no scores of 3 or better to report, no advantage in sending. But if it’s a requirement written somewhere to report all scores, better to do so.

Find the one that describes you best and follow the advice:

1. I received at least one score with a 3 or better.
SEND

2. I received at least one score with a 1 or 2 and am afraid my admission will be rescinded, but I received at least one score with a 3.
Firstly, your admission will most likely not be rescinded because of an AP score. Secondly, if you already fall under (1), SEND.

3. I only received scores of 1 or 2.
No credit advantage to sending, but see (4) below.

4. I was told/I contacted UCLA and they said to report all scores.
SEND.

I used UCLA virtual counseling on myucla (quite helpful indeed). The counselor told me it was optional, as I told her (assumed it was a she, counselor jaine) I didn’t want to use my ap credit to opt out of my perquisites as I felt taking classes in college would enable me a stronger foundation on the subject type. Thanks for your responses though.
