Sending AP scores

I can’t decide if I should self report my AP scores on common app. These are my scores:

  1. Calc BC (5)
  2. English Literature and composition(3)
  3. English Language and composition(3)
  4. Microeconomics (5)
  5. Statistics(5)
  6. U.S. history (4)
  7. Biology (3)
  8. Human Geography (4)
  9. Macroeconomics (4)
  10. U.S. gov and politics (4)
  11. World History (4)

I’m a national AP scholar, and although I’ve done so poorly on the english ap exams, I’ve scored a 2320 on the sat (770 reading and 750 writing). As you can tell, im a science/math guy. I don’t know if I should submit this to the schools im applying to (Ivy leagues + mit + stanford + etc). People who apply probably have all 5’s and such and i’ve recieved only three 5’s and five 4’s. I haven’t failed any but still…it’s so bad. Would it look bad on my part to self report them or should i just not do it?

I think it depends of the selectiveness of the colleges you are applying to. Those applying to ivies and highly ranked schools seem to find it horrific and application killing to not report their AP scores.

My D16 did not self report any AP Scores and so far has been accepted to 10 schools, Purdue, Pitt, College of Wooster and others. It hasn’t hurt her but the level of schools is different. Didn’t self report SAT/ACT either, only sent official score reports.

I do think if you are going to report you definitely need to report all the scores.

This was probably not helpful advice. Will be interested to see what the Ivy experts have to say! Good Luck.

I am not an expert either, but unless all your tests were threes, I would self report for sure. You have enough fours and fives to be impressive.
